Get to Know Dr. Melissa McColloch
Dr. Melissa has been improving smiles for over 15 years now, and she first joined the Gentling Dental Care team in 2006. With her extensive training and commitment to continual education, she is an asset to our team and can be relied on wholeheartedly by patients of all ages. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Melissa is very passionate about the oral healthcare field, and she finds lots of joy in helping patients of all ages! She also enjoys offering a wide range of different services too, including children’s care, cosmetic dentistry, treating dental emergencies, dental implants, dentures/partial dentures, and much more. Simply put, this career is the ideal fit for her strengths, and she looks forward to many more years of serving the Rochester community.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Melissa attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison for three years before earning early admission to the Marquette University School of Dentistry. Upon the completion of her Doctor of Dental Surgery, she completed a one-year residency at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.
In addition to traditional schooling, Dr. Melissa has also dedicated herself to pursuing continuing education with some of the top dental experts in the world, studying with the Dawson Academy, Kois Center, Spear Study Club, and Advanced Implant Study Club. Most recently, Dr. Melissa has become a candidate to become accredited in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and she is a Graduate of the Kois Center. She has also earned Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry as well and is Founding a Scholar of the Dawson Academy, which means that she practices the Concept of Complete Dentistry. She’s extensively trained with Dr. Jack Turbyfill to treat patients with removable dentures and partials. She is currently a member of:

- Zumbro Valley Dental Society
In addition to practicing dentistry, Dr. Melissa participates in Clinical Education Partner to help mentor other dentists.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
At home, Dr. Melissa and her husband Mick have two children, as well as a pet parrot, a cat, a French Bulldog, and a bearded dragon. She volunteers her time with the Rochester Rowing Club as a Regatta Coordinator and enjoys spending free time with her family at the lake, playing the piano, and gardening. She also is a Master Naturalist with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
